About the Alpha Center: How much does it cost to get a pregnancy test? All our services are completely free of charge. How long does it take? Your consultation with us will take at least 30 minutes, depending on your situation. You will obtain your test results during your session. How accurate are your tests? If the proper procedures are followed, our tests are 99% accurate. Will you give my information to anyone else? Any information we receive will be kept completely confidential, unless you give us permission in writing to release it, or unless there is evidence of abuse in your situation. If we see signs of abuse, we are required by law to notify the proper authorities. I need to talk to someone right now - who can I call? Our regular hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday from 9:00 - 1:00. If you need to talk with someone at another time, please call 1-800-395-HELP. Do I need to make an appointment? While we do recommend making an appointment, we will also take walk-ins. About Parenting: Will I be able to afford a baby? Will I be able to finish school? How will you help me? Through our Bridges program, we will help you to obtain the needed items, such as maternity clothes, baby clothes, and baby items such as cribs, bassinets, etc. We can also help you to find a doctor or midwife and locate other services that will be helpful to you. About Abortion: Do you perform abortions? We are not a medical facility, so we do not perform abortions or refer for them. However, we can provide you with abortion information about the various procedures, possible risks and side affects. I feel pressured to have an abortion, can you help? If you are feeling pressure to have an abortion, call 1-800-395-HELP immediately. I've been hurt by a previous abortion, can you help? Yes, we offer post-abortion counseling. We can also refer you to an organization that can help you to understand your rights as a post-abortion client. About Adoption: Can I choose the parents? Can I have future contact with my baby? Over the last several years adoption procedures have changed, so that you the birth parents are able to have more control over who adopts your child. Adoption agreements can be as open or as private (closed) as the parties involved agree. Some adoption plans include regular photos, letters, and possibly limited visitation.
